Accident tolerant fuel
Developing advanced cladding and coatings to enhance the safety and reliability of nuclear fuel under accident conditions.
Open to Ph.D. opportunities
Shanghai Jiao Tong University
I am Ningkang ZHAO, a researcher passionate about advancing materials science. I earned my M.Eng. in Energy and Power Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where I focused on accident tolerant fuel(ATF) and development of computational tools to understand their properties and behaviors.
I am currently seeking opportunities to pursue a PhD in materials science, aiming to contribute to both fundamental understanding and practical innovations in the field.
My research spans materials design, surface engineering, and oxidation resistance.
Developing advanced cladding and coatings to enhance the safety and reliability of nuclear fuel under accident conditions.
Fabrication and application of nanodiamond coatings for nuclear materials and extreme environments.
Surface engineering for high temperature quenching and oxidation resistance enhancement.
| Sep 12, 2025 | My research on accident tolerant fuel with nanodiamond coatings has been published in Small. You can find the DOI and abstract on my Publications page. |
